Located in one of South Australia’s fastest-growing regions, the Stretton Centre’s regional business hub in Munno Para provides bespoke co-working, meeting and venue hire spaces, and offers onsite professional business support.

The Stretton Centre is currently home to 42 startups and medium sized businesses, and their Business and Industry Growth team is currently supporting projects, events and training in the key areas of defence, health, horticulture and construction.

Identified by the Department for Innovation and Skills as a focal point for job creation in northern Adelaide, the Stretton Centre was selected as one of the first GigCity sites when the South Australian Government initiative launched in late 2017.

The affordable, ultra-fast connectivity of GigCity equips businesses based at the Stretton Centre with a competitive advantage, allowing them to collaborate seamlessly with partners and customers around the world.

Two businesses within the Stretton Centre that are utilising and appreciating the benefits of the GigCity connection are Invisage Studios and Paricom. Having unlimited bandwidth as well as fast internet is paramount for Invisage Studio’s video production creation. They produce high quality video content for their clients as well digital marketing and live streaming, all of which depend on speed and reliability.

Likewise, Paricom is an IT service company relying on the GigCity connection to service their clients across many areas such as education, cloud services, remote support and managed services.

The Stretton Centre’s Manager of Business Development, Jared Ahern, said that GigCity connection allows the Stretton Centre to exceed customer expectations and provide a service that the local business community cannot access elsewhere.

“The Stretton Centre is a hub where entrepreneurs, industry, government, creatives and thinkers come together,” he said.

“They achieve positive and economic and social outcomes through collaboration, innovation, economic development, advocacy, research, workforce training and development.

“Having the Stretton Centre’s co-working space connected to the GigCity network has been especially beneficial for startup businesses in our region.

“We’ve had finance and video editing businesses join our co-working space for the primary reason of being able to connect to the network.

“It’s enabled them to work with clients all across Australia and be able to share files in seconds which would otherwise take hours. It is really changing the way that people work.”

GigCity is a South Australian Government initiative delivering affordable, high-speed internet to innovation precincts across the state.

Participating businesses experience gigabit speed broadband, enabling greater collaboration between colleagues and easy sharing with clients around the world.
